Quick Reference Checklists
For Contestants
Before competing, confirm:
- My membership is current.
- My club is in good standing.
- I am eligible for this contest type.
- I meet the International Speech Contest education requirement, if applicable.
- I am not holding a role that makes me ineligible.
- I have completed the required eligibility/originality documentation.
- My speech meets originality requirements.
- My speech meets the required time limits.
- I understand the protest procedure.
- I will be physically present where required.
- I have attended the contestant briefing.
For Chief Judges
Before the contest:
- Verify contestant eligibility with the Contest Chair.
- Confirm club good standing and membership status.
- Verify required education requirements for International Speech contestants.
- Collect required forms.
- Brief all judges.
- Confirm judges are eligible to serve.
- Brief timers and ballot counters.
- Explain protest procedures.
- Protect the confidentiality of judges and ballots.
- Prepare official contest materials.
